The EarthSeeds Initiative: The EarthSeeds Initiative is a network of experts that provide growing organizations with the resources they need to thrive in sometimes hostile environments. What links these diverse stakeholders is not only their commitment to the Earth and to positive change, but their belief that the global view, the astronauts view, of the Earth carries with it a powerful message for all crewmembers of spaceship Earth. Spreading EarthSeeds: Spreading EarthSeeds is an initiative focused on helping local activists, small NGO’s, and community organizers, create and facilitate community-based public outreach in their area focused on sustainability and positive change at the local level. With 20 years of experience in community outreach and a network of environmental leaders to draw from, EarthSeeds is expanding our national grassroots campaign to bring the global view to the forefront. We provide grassroots activists with a platform to build on, curriculum and program support, as well as resources, expertise and connections to our “Earth in Every Classroom” and “SusBus” Initiatives. The Earth in Every Classroom: The Earth in Every Classroom initiative aims to put the Earth Image in every classroom, group meeting space, and church in America. Backed up by an award winning activity guide, affordable world-class resources, and generous community support, the Earth in Every Classroom Initiative has been moving forward since its inception in 1999. With participants in 15 countries, the Earth in Every Classroom initiative promotes Earth awareness and environmental literacy yet does not require any curriculum time! Join the movement and sponsor an Earth in you child’s classroom or school. This initiative is focused on creating a fleet of mobile platforms for sustainability-based advocacy and outreach, or SusBuses. Launched from our headquarters in Colorado Springs, the first SusBus was created by community groups, filled with fun interactive exhibits for all ages, and has become a powerful tool for advocacy at fairs, markets and events. Perfect for rural areas and tailored meet community needs, SusBuses attract attention and allow people to learn about sustainability in a fun and active way, garner almost universal community support, and because they are built and staffed collaboratively, require little input and operating costs for the groups involved. This year we have not only created a template, exhibits, and put a bus into action, but are in the process of creating the first three Series II Busses for other States.
